TEDS FRIED CLAMS
SHAPLEIGH MAINE

Our Mission

Rooted in Community. Committed to Excellence.

Serving Maine with quality & hospitality since 1950.

At Ted’s Fried Clams, our mission has remained unchanged since the doors first opened on Emery Mills Road in 1950. What began as a small Maine clam shack built on hard work and family values continues today as a commitment to exceptional seafood, genuine hospitality, and community pride in Shapleigh.

Our goal is simple — but powerful:

We strive to ensure that every guest who walks through our doors receives prompt, professional, friendly, and courteous service. Whether you’re a lifelong summer regular or visiting Ted’s Fried Clams for the first time, you are treated like a neighbor.

We are committed to maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming restaurant where families, friends, and visitors can gather to enjoy classic Maine seafood in a setting that feels both timeless and inviting.

We believe great food begins with great ingredients. That’s why we prepare every meal with care, using quality seafood and trusted recipes that have defined the Ted’s Fried Clams tradition for over 75 years. From our signature fried clams to our chowders and seasonal offerings, consistency and craftsmanship matter.

Most importantly, we believe in respect — for our guests, for our staff, and for our community. Every team member deserves dignity. Every guest deserves gratitude. And every visit is an opportunity to serve with integrity.

As we reopen in Shapleigh, Maine, we carry forward the original mission that made Ted’s Fried Clams a Route 109 landmark — honoring the past while serving the next generation.
